This is Black. This is White.
This is Black.
This is White.
When we look at them side by side, something doesn’t seem right. Can you see them hiding? Neither can I, but if you look close enough, you might take them by great surprise.
Do you see Black playing in a park or White flying a kite? Once there was a time when this seemed to be alright, but something about this now doesn’t seem very polite. The black is so black, and the white is so white, can’t you see the difference? Can you tell them this can’t be right?
Today in the afternoon something will change, though the weather is gloomy, something inside them will rage.
Maybe they can manage to get to each other, it looks like something is in their way, but look at them now, they’re walking over hoping to play!
They made it through, and each was doing the same. Each looked so different though deep down they were the same. But the others from black and the others from white, they stood by themselves on the opposite sides. They worried about love, they worried about hate, they only understood one, because they were afraid.
Black talked about love and White talked about hate. They talked about both and how each one could be great. They loved one another because they felt it was right. They hated the crime of the city and how it made them afraid of the night, but they loved to learn and they loved to explore, they loved where each came from and loved to know more.
They hated the bad things they didn’t understand, they hated disease and hunger, and the separation of the land. They knew it was building, they hated that the most, so Black and White started to growl together to let the others what will soon be known.
Black and White stood there, and they both had the same plan. Each took one step in, and they began to hold hands. Each promised the other they wouldn’t let go; they had to show the others and give them the scariest of shows. Black growled at White I hate you, I despise you; you are different than me. White growled back I hate you more, I hate that you’re a different color, you’re nothing like me! Black howled I’m stronger and scarier than you because my color is black. White howled my claws and teeth are sharper, and you’re stupid if you can’t see that.
Now the others from black and the others from white, they looked on at the two growling from the opposite sides. They watched them change and they watched them grow, they watched as both grew more frightening than what was ever to be known. From both sides, they began to tremble, and they began to shake. Both black and white scurried off afraid trying to find somewhere to escape.
Black and White knew this was finally enough, they yelled at the others sides together, now watch when we love! Both held hands, keeping the promise of not letting go, they took one step closer and hugged each other and something changed as love began to show. White growled for all to hear this is why we love each other even if we’re not the same. Black began to growl, and his voice began to change, now come on over from the opposite sides, meet each other and share the love that was hidden inside.
So, all from Black and all from White began to run to each other from the opposite sides. They embraced with hugs, some even began to cry, some began to change and laugh, loving all the reasons why. They thanked the two for the courage of love; they thanked them for showing bravery in hating the evil things of the world untouched.
So Black and White weren’t so different after all, they both knew they had to be the first which was scariest of all. They were happy now as friends should be, still hugging one another, the strongest of friend’s love, just like YOU, just like ME.
